Health & Self-Experimentation

This section is about health in the broadest sense: biology, addiction, recovery, self-experimentation, and the uncomfortable feedback loops between body and identity.

It is personal writing, not medical advice. I write here to make my thinking visible, keep myself honest, and separate useful curiosity from self-destruction wearing a lab coat.

  • Addiction: the most personal thread, and probably the most important one.
  • Research & frameworks: ways of turning observations into better questions.
  • Pharmacology: notes on compounds, mechanisms, risk, and self-experimentation.
  • Body systems: a working map for sleep, brain, gut, skin, environment, and the rest.

The Man Who Got Addicted to Heroin in Real Time

·11 mins
BloodshotEyes came to a Norwegian forum asking how to inject heroin. Over the next four years, strangers watched his experiment become dependence, relapse, treatment, and despair.

Research & Frameworks

··1 min
This is where I keep frameworks and research-shaped notes. Some of it is rigorous. Some of it is exploratory. The important part is making assumptions visible, writing down failure modes, and building tools that make future thinking less sloppy.

Pharmacology & Self-Experimentation

··1 min
This section is where I put pharmacology notes, compound writeups, and self-experimentation reflections. The useful question is rarely “does this do something?” Most things do something. The better questions are: what is the mechanism, what is the cost, what would prove I am fooling myself, and what risk am I pretending not to see?

Addiction

··17 mins
A personal account of addiction, self-deception, replacement, loneliness, and why understanding the mechanism does not make you immune to it.

Body Systems

This is a roadmap, not a finished guide. Nothing below is published yet, so the list at the bottom of this page is empty on purpose rather than broken. Sleep is the one being written first, because it sits upstream of most of the others.
